The Complete Guide to Why We Get Sick And Living A Healthy Life

I was inspired to create Why We Get Sick because of some challenging circumstances in my life over the last few years.  I lost my mother to cancer, my mother in law to cancer and a lovely angelic friend Amy to cancer and the list goes on.  I just received an email that a colleague’s mother has cancer and is starting treatments. Another friend of mine just had intrusive surgery to remove a large tumor and I am sure that you have similar experiences with your friends and family and you see emails delivering the bad news that “Charlie has cancer” or “Debbie has diabetes.”

The source of real health

My wise mother who died at the young age of 74 and who was the daughter of immigrant a dairy farmer in upstate New York, taught me at an early age that “your health is your greatest wealth and without health, you don’t have wealth.”   This stuck with me.  All of us aspire to live long and healthy lives so we can see our children grow up and our meet our future grandchildren. Unfortunately, we see too many of our close friends and family become ill, sometimes terminally ill and they die leaving behind loving friends, a spouse and young children.

Because of my mother planting this seed in me and seeing too many loved ones and friends become sick and die before their time, I set off on life long journey to learn Why We Get Sick and I am going to share what I have learned from reading dozens of books, researching and attending health conferences.

My hope is that I can help you learn the truth about Why We Get Sick and if you know and understand why we get sick, the assumption is that you can change your lifestyle, changed your habits and improve your overall health profile. At the end of the day, you need to become your own health advocate because no one else will.  If you don’t, and you are not careful you will fall into the health debt trap cycle where we spend our youth acquiring wealth and in our latter years we spend our wealth to acquire health. Poor health, unmanaged and uncontrolled can be unforgiving and can put an enormous burden on your retirement savings and your family.

Why We Get Sick is not about treatment plans that you are already familiar with, but a resource that you can lean on to find about hope and learn that you can take positively impact your health to help your body restore itself to its normal health. Why not? Today, we have seen men and woman fly to the moon and back so why can’t we leverage technology and knowledge to live healthier lives.

Why Do We Get Sick?

After researching health for the for the last 15 years, by reading books, attended conferences, watching movies, and interviewing health experts,  I have learned that there are three reason Why We Get Sick.  These three reasons are principles that have proven to be true for me throughout the years.

The first reason why we get sick is because we are  Malnourished. This means that the food we are eating are not properly nourishing our bodies, and we are not receiving the proper amount vitamins and minerals, essential to helping our body thrive.

The second reason we get sick is because our body is toxic.  Toxic means that our body has a larger than normal toxic burden and this can cause our key detoxifying organs such as the liver to under perform.

The third reason we get sick sick is because we have too much emotional baggage.  Some of this emotional baggage can be obvious such as stress and some other emotional baggage may be less obvious.

Can you start to take charge of your health? Can you start having a positive impact on your health? Can you be smart about your health in a similar way to buying a car with a note book of knowledge? You bet you can. Read on so if or when when you are sick, you will armed with knowledge just like you were the last time you bought a car.

The Three Reasons

We are nutritionally deficient

Our Bodies Have a Heavy Toxic Burden

We Have Too Much Emotional Baggage

Take these principles in and think about them for a while.  Don’t let their simplicity underwhelm you because the principles are not loaded with scientific jargon.  Let them be your foundation so you can start building your own healthy life style and impact your health.

The other day, I was reflecting that we live in the most advanced scientific and technically advanced time in our lives.  Isn’t it ironic then that we are generally less healthy and we are more obese then  our ancestors?

On this blog, I will cover topics from natural remedies, to healthy fermented foods and healthy recipes such as making chicken broth.
